What is the new water year?
The UK’s Hydrological year, also known as the water year, begins on the 1st October. This is roughly when rainfall replenishes ground water reserves and reservoirs. October is usually the point of the year where the water reserves are at their most depleted. Water is the Earths most precious resource, and therefore measures should be taken to reduce waste. Out of the global water usage, farm water accounts for an average of 70%. With 40% of that amount being wasted due to poor irrigation systems. With the new water year upon us, now is a good time to look back and reflect on changes we can make this water year.

Plants need certain thing in order to live and grow. There are a lot of factors, but one of the most important is water. Irrigation is the process of distributing a controlled amount of water evenly across a growing area, in order to maximise optimal crop growth. Irrigation systems come in various designs and application, which are built to cater every farming set up.
