Increase your spinach crop yield by 25%

Spinach is one of the most popular vegetables in the UK. Spinach is full of vitamins and minerals that we need for a healthy diet. The UK produces around 600 tonnes of spinach every week, when in season. The demand has been increasing in recent years, and production has been struggling to keep up. Most farms need to be able to increase crop yield instead of expanding the land used. There are several ways to increase crop yield, some will require more manual work, while others use technology to increase the crop yield. Farming technology has been advancing somewhat rapidly, leading to a high-tech solution, that is easy to implement. The KPB micro-transmitter system could increase crop yield by 25%.

What is the KPB micro-transmitter?

The Kyminasi Plant Booster is a really easy to use, micro transmitter that uses low frequency radio waves. These transmitters are attached to an existing irrigation system. They only activate when they are first presented with running water, and require no power or maintenance. Smart farm technologies, like the KPB, are bringing cost effective ways to increase crop yield with minimal long-term input.

How does the KPB micro-transmitter work?

Everything in the universe is made from atoms, and those atoms contain electrons. Electrons are constantly moving, and this motion creates vibrations. These vibrations are known as the natural frequency of that object. These frequencies can be detected using infrared spectroscopy. The vibrational frequencies are transmitted through the water; which is passively extracted from the electromagnetic field; created by the micro-transmitter reacting with the metal pipe. This is why the KPB transmitter needs to be attached to a piece of metal piping, although, the rest of the irrigation piping can be plastic.

What does the KPB micro-transmitter effect?

There are 6 key areas in which the KPB works, and each of these areas work together it help increase the crop yield of your spinach production. The frequency range is between 150KHz and 10Hz. There are more than 3000 frequencies in this spectrum that are programmed into the micro-transmitter. These frequencies help with most of the spinach’s life cycle; making the plant more efficient in absorbing oxygen, nitrogen, water, nitric acid, light and carbon dioxide.

How accurate are the results?

The original tests were conducted in Johannesburg, South Africa, and the yield for spinach, kale and alfalfa increased by 25-30%. The visual difference between the KPB and the control showed a deeper green colour, and visually more leaves per plant. To get a more accurate reading, we ran an experiment with a local farm to see if this would increase crop yield in the UK. Our experiment showed an increase in crop size, yielding an average of 20% more crop than the control group. The test was conducted indoors, in tunnels, with exactly the same parameters, except for the KPB micro-transmitter.
