FPC Future: The Agritech event for the fresh produce and flower industry

The Fresh produce consortium, FPC, event is only a month away! With that said, the timetable for the speakers and workshops is live and spread across 4 areas. The main focus for the exhibition is focused on the future of agriculture, with topics such as vertical farming, automation, and cost cutting through productivity. The FPC Future event looks to be focusing on technology and innovation to create a better, more sustainable industry.

Productivity

Over the course of the day, there are loads of opportunities to learn about sustainable practices, and how to implement them. With most developments, there will be an element of adopting better processes and technologies to get a farm running as smooth and efficient as possible. There are many separate, ad hoc, solutions on the market, and there are some full suite software solutions. Live Farmer does literally everything for you, you can see exactly where there are efficiency issues, and fix them.

Automation and Robotics

Automation is the future of virtually every industry, and robotics are inevitably going to take over a large swathe of jobs. It is time to embrace the changes, and start building an industry around this. Automation frees your labourers up to work on other tasks, and even reduce the amount of labour you will need each season. Soil health sensors are just one of the many ways automation is increasing efficiency. The information can be transmitted straight to LiveFarmer, so you have up-to-date data, so you can make better decisions, quickly.

Vertical Farming & Glasshouse Controlled Environment Agriculture

With the global population expected to reach near 10 billion by 2050, there is increasing pressure on traditional agriculture to produce more food to meet the growing demand. Vertical farming can help to address this challenge by providing a controlled environment for growing crops, reducing the need for land, water, and other resources. Technology is playing a major role in the development of vertical farming, and advancements in lighting, hydroponic systems, and climate control are making it increasingly efficient and cost-effective.
